Hellenic Cables is investigating the potential to replace the conventional fossil S-PVC used in specific cable families (low voltage residential applications) with Biovyn, an excellent low-carbon content enabler. The production process will stay unchanged (conductor casting and drawing, extrusion lines for insulation and sheathing). Preliminary cradle-to-gate carbon assessments have indicated a total 17% reduction rate per km of final cable. The product could potentially enter the market in late 2022.
