Nextethic®, which synthetises the three words “next”, “ethic” and “aesthetic”, is a new family of artificial leathers for automotive interiors, reducing the Carbon Footprint (CF). Nextethic® can be designed according all OEM’s constructions with modulated degrees of sustainability, based on recycled, bio-based and bio-attributed raw materials. Life-cycle analysis (LCA) performed with the University of Bologna showed a potential carbon footprint reduction that can exceed 60% of the total raw materials carbon emissions.
