A key aspect of Project Sunshine is the control Eurocell has over its waste materials streams to enhance sustainability. It is imperative profiles are reprocessed since these impacts on raw materials prices extending viable margins to increase profitability. Current PVC-U material constraints limit window spans (profile lengths). An alternative solution would be to add a particulate filler to the PVC matrix. A range of fillers were evaluated and narrowed down. Engineering software (Fusion 360) was used to calculate EI values for threes elected profiles (key profile section to deliver a larger, strengthened window). These were compared with simplified models using hand calculations to add confidence to the engineering software approach.
