The brand in 2020 launched a fully circular product to the consumers, produced entirely from recycled old Melissa shoes without conditions to be worn. The sandal, made with 100% post-consumer recycled PVC, was called Melissa Flox M Edition. The reverse logistics program involves 338 reverse logistics collectors in all Melissa stores. The action was possible due to the recyclability of Melissa footwear’s main raw material, MelFlex, a PVC-based formulation that only with heating is resubmitted to injection and moulding. A 70% reduction in CO2 emissions per pair of Melissa Flox M Edition is estimated when compared with the same sandal, but without recycled content.
