Clinching the Gold Award for Circularity, Perlen created new push-through blister packaging for medicines, vitamins and dietary supplements, allowing easier recycling by designing it without metallic foil.
The single-material blister for tablets and capsules is 100% recyclable thanks to its clear material classification (PVC), without aluminium. The innovation lies in the push-through and transparent lid foil – with a patented secret formula.
“Our whole team feels honoured and extremely happy about this wonderful recognition. For us at Perlen Packaging it means a big step forward,” said Lars Kirchhoff, the company’s Chief Sales Officer.
While the PERLALUX PVC Mono Blister is already achieving great functionality results, Perlen Packaging further enhances processing properties of this innovation.
“Keeping the tried-and-tested PVC in the Mono-Blister System approach, will help customers to keep total costs of packaging low, while continuing to use the best researched and monitored plastic for pharmaceutical quality requirements,” Lars said.
“The Mono Blister is leading the way by extending our current product capabilities from formable films to push-through lidding and therefore to fully recyclable blister systems,” he added. “It is therefore a fantastic platform for our future innovations in sustainability. Thank you INEOS Inovyn for appreciating our efforts with this Gold Award!”
